David Odell

 

David Odell (Scriptwriter) became a full-time scriptwriter in 1968 after being graduated from Harvard University. His screenplays include Cry Uncle and Dealing, based on a Michael Crichton novel. With Kurt Vonnegut, Odell wrote Between Time and Timbuktoo, a pastiche for television of eight of Vonnegut's books. His script The Shoo-In was optioned by director John Avildsen, and another screenplay, Coast to Coast, starred Dyan Cannon and Robert Blake.

David Odell, who wrote the screenplay from Henson's story, joined the Muppet team in July 1978, just in time to work on "The Muppet Movie" as well as the television series.
